Hanapin Marketing (www.hanapinmarketing.com) is an award-winning and fast-growing Internet marketing company, located in Bloomington, Indiana. We have an open position for a Marketing Manager to increase the company's visibility and generate leads for our services. Experience with a tech or web company is helpful but not a requirement.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Hanapin is looking to add a Marketing Specialist to our team to work on-site in Bloomington, Indiana. With the leadership team, this person will be responsible for creating our overall marketing strategy and will individually be tasked with implementing the corporate marketing plan.

Our Marketing Specialist will be equally adept at creating a lead generation "machine" as well as building the brands for Hanapin and our web properties. We are looking for someone who is comfortable with both the creative and quantitative/analytical sides of marketing and doesn't think that one is more important or better than the other.

Success for this role will be measured in terms of your ability to create a steady and consistent flow of qualified leads as well as to create brand strength for Hanapin. We'll measure the latter by shorter sales cycles, increased ideal clients, and strength/integrity of pricing. You will report directly to the president and CEO.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Marketing strategy and implementation- You'll be responsible for determining the strategy of our marketing plan, along with the leadership team, and fully responsible for the tactical implementation. (10% of your time)
  • Lead generation- You're comfortable in the world of direct response and testing. You'll build a lead generation machine for Hanapin and our web properties. The ideal candidate has B2B experience in the complex sales. (50% of your time)
  • PR- You're a whiz at self-promotion and creating situations where Hanapin can pound its chest and get in front of our target audience. (15% of your time)
  • Event Planning- You'll be planning and managing corporate events and seminars, as well as coordinating speaking opportunities, including webinars, for members of our executive team. (15% of your time)
  • Writing- You should love the written word! You'll be writing blog posts, case studies, white papers, and lots of great content to help us generate leads and position us as experts. You feel comfortable both writing pieces from scratch or by brainstorming/getting inspired by what others in the industry are doing. (10% of your time)

 

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE

  • Marketing experience- You need 3-5 years with a proven track record of exceeding marketing goals and delivering significant revenue and customer growth.
  • Lead generation experience- You have B2B experience, specifically with the complex sale, and are comfortable in the direct response and testing worlds.
  • Branding experience- You feel comfortable building our company and our web properties (PPC Hero and Doppelpager) into the most recognizable brands in our industry. You can easily determine which activities are best for "building the brand" and generating leads and can make those long- and short-term decisions without hesitation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills- You work well independently, under pressure, and with tight deadlines. You manage multiple tasks simultaneously and have strong written and oral communication skills as well as outstanding people skills.
  • An entrepreneur's mindset- You don't have to be an entrepreneur, but as long as you have a "no excuses" approach and love new and exciting challenges, this may be the right position for you.
