Usability / UX Intern

As Hanapin’s Usability/UX Intern, you’ll be working with Hanapin’s President and CEO, Pat East, on developing newly acquired e-commerce websites. Your responsibilities will include:
- Research design and usability of industry specific websites.
- Identify potential usability issues and/or opportunities early in the development process.
- Devise solutions that are appropriate to the target users and their tasks and create a plan for the website(s).
- Create and implement usability tests or online audience research surveys. Adjust plan as necessary, based off of feedback.
- Develop wireframes for the e-commerce sites and prepare sitemap documents once testing is complete.
Hanapin’s Usability/UX Intern will apply his/her knowledge and skill in usability, user interface design and usability testing to ensure a superior web user experience. This internship is ideal for those looking for some real hands on experience, as the intern will oversee a portfolio-worthy usability project from start to finish.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to work consistent hours each week.
- Eagerly willing to tackle unfamiliar problems and research "best practice" solutions
- Ability to prioritize tasks and focus on the vital few instead of the trivial many
- Keen critical thinking skills and problem solving abilities
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to "think on your feet"
- Can get along with the other Hanapin team members.
- Experience in any web-related field (examples include, but aren't limited to, blogging, email marketing, social media, web analytics, and web development).
